Lucy's First Halloween!

While this was Clark and my second Halloween in our house, it was Lucy's FIRST Halloween! We continued our tradition of giving Lucy a toy to commemorate the holiday by giving her an orange squeaky pumpkin. Despite the fact that Lucy can now devour a soft, plush toy in less than 10 minutes, we continue to spend our money to buy her these toys...she absolutely LOVES the challenge of getting to the squeaker! At first, she just runs around the house and just squeaks it in her mouth, then she can apart the stitching and looks so proud when she rips all the fluff and padding out. Lucy loved the trick-or-treaters that came to the door and knocked, or better yet, rang our old-fashioned doorbell. She loves people and loves greeting people at the front door. In case you were wondering, Lucy dressed up as the devil. While I searched high and low for a Snoopy or Lucy Van Pelt costume, a friend gave me their old devil costume that their dog outgrew. Thanks Riley! It kind of fits because when Lucy is bad or misbehaves, we call her "Lucifer!" But of course, Lucy is farthest from the devil...she is truly an angel. She is such a sweet dog, loves to snuggle, and has such a great temperament. So the costume is ironic and funny in that sense. Red has always been Lucy's power color, so it was fitting that her devil horns and cape were red. Clark and I didn't dress up and we were so busy this year with Lucy and the upcoming elections that we even forgot to carve pumpkins - what a shame! Oh well, there is always next year! Welcome To Our Blog!

We created this blog as a way to stay better connected with family and friends. Our goal is to post pictures and updates of our family - Clark, Andrea, and Lucy! To start, however, we realized we have a lot to share given all the change we have experienced over the last year. As such, the first handful of posts will be background or "catch up" material of the major happenings over the last couple years - our life in DC, how we met, our cross country road trip, our new jobs, our new house, and our newest addition to the family (Lucy)!
