Celebrating Bryan's 30th Birthday at the Mariners Home Opener

My older brother Bryan turns the big 3-0 and to celebrate, we went to the Mariners Opening Day baseball game! Bryan and Vanessa came up on his actual birthday - Sunday, April 13th. They spent Sunday morning exploring downtown Seattle and Pike Place Market. They came down to Tacoma that evening and for his birthday dinner, we went to Duke's Chowder House, the best fish and chips in town.

The next day, Monday, April 14th was the day of Mariners Opening Day and my parents drove up to go to the game with us. It was my dad's very FIRST professional baseball game. He had attended many Little League baseball games, high school games, and even minor league games, but never set foot inside a professional ballpark...until today. It was awesome. Game time was 3:40 pm, but we headed up north early mid-morning to get there when the gates opened. We secured free street parking, but had to hike at least 1.5 miles...oh well, it was worth it.

There was so much excitement in the air...Bryan's 30th birthday, dad's first professional baseball game, and the return of Ken Griffey Jr to Seattle!

Because it was my brother's special milestone birthday, I arranged for a special Mariners birthday package...when we arrived at the game, Bryan got a Mariners gym bag, hat, baseball, and Ivars gift card. And after the 4th innning, his name was on the SCOREBOARD!!! What a way to celebrate your 30th birthday! Cheers to you Bryan!
