Let me lay out the ultra-romantic date night scene Clark and I had tonight...
Mariners game, beer, hot dogs, peanuts, Griffey bobblehead night...AND the Mariners WIN 11-3! It was an awesome game of hits, hits, and more hits!
I wouldn't have date night with my Clark any other way.
Lucy
Lucy's name was inspired by Lucy Van Pelt from the Peanuts Comic Strip, but she is such a sweet dog and also embodies characteristics from America's favorite dog, Snoopy.
Snoopy (a.k.a. Lucy)
Snoopy is an extroverted beagle with a Walter Mitty complex. He is a virtuoso at every endeavor- at least in his daydreams atop his doghouse. He regards his master, Charlie Brown, as “that round-headed kid” who brings him his supper dish. He is fearless though prudently cautious about “the cat next door.” He never speaks- that would be one human trait too many- but he manages to convey everything necessary in facial expressions and thought balloons. A one-man show with superior intelligence and vivid imagination, he has created such multiple personalities as: Joe Cool, World War I Flying Ace, Literary Ace, Flashbeagle, Vulture, Foreign Legionnaire, etc.
Andrea
While not all of Lucy's characteristics are embodied by Andrea...many are, such as being bold, stubborn, independent, opinionated, and sometimes bossy.
Lucy Van Pelt (a.k.a. Andrea and our dog's namesake)
Lucy Van Pelt is a strong female character, independent, crabby, cynical, opinionated and a fuss-budget...yet feminine at the same time. She tries to be the center of attention and works hard at being bossy, crabby and selfish. She is a know-it-all who dispenses advice whether you want it or not and for Charlie Brown, there is a charge. She has only two soft spots, both of them may be Schroeder, who prefers Beethoven. As she sees it, hers is the only way. There is absence of logic in her arguments. When it comes to compliments, Lucy only likes receiving them. She is 8 years old, the older sister of Linus and Rerun. She is often referred to as the world's greatest fuss-budget.
Clark
Clearly Clark doesn't have a dust cloud that follows him like Pig Pen, but if you have ever seen Clark's desk at work, his car, or his closet, you can understand why Pig Pen is the Peanuts character that most resembles Clark. For the record though, Clark does shower daily and he doesn't smell - he is just a bit messy!
Pig Pen (a.k.a. Clark)
Before grunge was cool, Pigpen made his debut in the Peanuts comic strip on July 13, 1954 and since then has been the butt of “dirt” gags. He walks around in a cloud of dust, sprinkling dirt on all he comes in contact with. Pigpen is happily messy. He doesn’t try to explain it, hide it, fight it. For him, it’s just a fact of life.
